Community Groups

WHAT ARE COMMUNITY GROUPS - Community Groups generally meet in homes two evenings per month. These small groups (usually 10 to 20 people total, including children) are led by various ministry leaders and elders. They are designed to be a place where members of our church connect with each other more deeply as family, encourage each other, pray for one another, and grow in faith. Entire families participate together during times of praise, study, sermon discussion, and fellowship.

Community groups are designed to help HCF members:

  • Gain a better understanding of the sermons and how to apply them
  • Grow in passion for God and knowledge of Him
  • Build and strengthen family-like bonds between each other
  • Glorify God in their marriage, family, work, leisure time and witness to neighbors
  • What happens during a Community Group?

After a time of fellowship and praising God in song and/or prayer, members revisit the sermon that was preached earlier in the day and consider the passage of Scripture from which it was drawn. The leader facilitates open discussion and assists the group in further considering what the Biblical author wanted readers to understand from the passage. This time of digging deeper through questions and group discussion reinforces the morning message and addresses questions that Harvest members might have.

If you have further questions about Community Groups, please speak with an elder or call the church office [ph: 804-559-4232]. HCF Members, if you would like to join a group, contact the church office.
