Is the meaning of discipleship any different today than it was for the first disciples of Christ? The word “Christian” is used three times in the Bible; whereas “disciple” is used well over 200 times. In Acts 11:26 Luke tells us that “in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.” The title Christian has no meaning outside of true Biblical discipleship.
If you’d like to learn more about the difference, make plans now to be part of this class—our first session will be Sunday night June 13th at 6PM, and will be led by Bruce Cobb. Together we’ll discover the importance of kingdom focused prayer, the imperative of love, and the need for the presence of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirt (abiding in Christ – John 15). We will dig into what it means to be a fruitful follower of Jesus Christ and the evangelistic tool hidden in plain sight. Now, here’s a challenging and life changing question……are you a Christian or a disciple?
This class will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons/evenings of each month.
