Guiding principle:
HCF small groups (Sunday School, community groups, HCF sponsored/led Bible studies), are theological “safe havens” for HCF members. Members can be assured at all times that those people leading and/or teaching the small groups are members of HCF, have been approved to lead and teach, and utilize approved curriculum.
HCF small groups are designed to grow HCF members in character (godliness and way of life), conviction (what we believe and why) and competence (skills to minister to others).
Sunday school and Bible studies:
Both Sunday school and HCF sponsored community Bible studies provide excellent evangelistic opportunities and entrance paths into the life of the local church. In such, non-believers are welcome and encouraged to visit Sunday school and Bible studies.
Generally speaking, prolonged participation (for example, longer than a calendar year) by members of other churches in Sunday school or Bible studies with no demonstrated intentions of joining HCF is not optimal.
Community groups:
Community Groups generally meet in members’ homes twice monthly and are designed to enhance genuine fellowship in the body of Christ at HCF. Entire families are encouraged to participate together during times of praise, prayer, study, sermon discussion, fellowship…and meals!
Led by various ministry leaders and elders, community groups are designed for HCF members; however, as evangelistic opportunities present themselves, community groups can be opened to neighbors and friends. Additionally, community groups are also open to visitors who are seeking a church home and are seriously considering joining HCF.
